Switch Hop returns to The Smokehouse with another night of live electronica, experimental music and arty nonsense.

£5 OTD / £3 NUS | Fri 1st June | 7:30PM - 11PM | The Smokehouse, Ipswich

Last time around one of our artists brought in a gong, this time there'll be a harp, courtesy of HYDRA LERNA. She's also equipped with a a loop pedal, a laptop, a microphone and a bunch of effects. She's in the same part of the musical spectrum as Daughter, The XX, Flume and La Roux and has played at Norwich Arts Centre and The Waterfront ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5jBE-b4XQI ).

We will also be joined by THE INTERESTING TIMES GANG, a group who defy description with one foot in alt-rock and the other in a garage full of retro Casio keyboards. They sound like a blend of The Moldy Peaches and The Postal Service and their songs have names like "Sci-Fi Future Outlaw Kids". They recently got picked up by the John Peel Centre's Emerge night for new talent and we promptly stole them for ourselves ( https://soundcloud.com/user-892832241/the-sci-fi-future-outlaw-kids ).

Rounding out the line-up is LOULA YORKE, one half of Suffolk's banging acid-techno duo TR-33N, but here with a solo project that's better described as Art Noise. Here she is playing a cyber-enhanced log https://www.instagram.com/p/BKB5-YqhYA7/?taken-by=tr33n808
