Sealionwoman is Kitty Whitelaw and Tye McGivern – a musical partnership born from the cacophonous maelstrom of London-based power-trio, Kitty and the Drowning Bag. Their work as a duo over the last six years has taken them deep into a crepuscular realm where history and myth intersect, a place where dark folk narratives drift over a brooding narcotic fugue of processed contrabass and digital loops.

MacGillivray is the highland name of Scottish writer, performance artist and musician Kirsten Norrie, reflecting her matrilineal highland heritage. MacGillivray has released eight albums, authored two poetry collections and provided music for the soundtracks to two major British films. She will be performing tracks from her forthcoming mini-album, ‘Watermarked in Flame’.
"With flowing black robes and strawberry blond hair that falls to her waist she looks like a Thomas Malory heroine, piercing the Tuesday night crowd with a baleful glare and introducing her first song as the tale of a murdered mermaid. She then proceeds to scratch at her electric autoharp and then begins an anguished wail herself. The song seems less a tale of the murder and more field recordings of the event itself. Polly Preacher is a wonky folk troubadour worthy of far more than I have the time to write here, but she only confirmed she could play after I'd written the press release and made the posters.
