We are pleased to announce three nights of "Live Electronica, Experimental Music & Arty Nonsense" at The Smokehouse during Autumn/Winter 2018: 4th October, 8th November and 13th December. All events run from 8pm (sharp) through to around 11pm and are £5 entry on the door (£3 for students).
SORRDES An experimental multi-genre music producer & electronic musician. He draws influence from electronic artists like Four Tet, Bonobo, Gold Panda & Shigeto to leftfield hip hop producers such as Flying Lotus & Madlib. He has collaborated with a number of local artists including Phil Jackson, Booda French, Brooches, Rafiki, Girl in a Gale & Eff Ghano. He released his debut album Strange Hymns in February 2018, blending live & programmed drums with ethereal pads, samples & melodic synths and is currently finishing a new EP to be released in the coming weeks.
RAFIKI A Trip Hop/Electronic producer who has stepped away from his early Hip Hop producing roots and moved onto a more chilled out/wavy movement. When not making beats he regularly DJ's and works with other like minded producers and artists. In August this year he released a new 10-track album “The Sound In My Head”. The record has a firm foundation of bass-music while drifting between Sunday-afternoon downtempo to Friday-night trap all combined with a subtly tribal set of rhythms and samples.
SLOW KING A singer/song-writer and producer who receives regular airplay from BBC Introducing. Influenced by artists such as Nick Murphy, Sampha, Jack garratt and Bloc Party, his style lies somewhere between ambient pop and indie-electronica. He studied music technology at Suffolk New College and is now studying a BA(Hons) in music production and sound engineering at Point Blank Music School in London. His debut EP “Homebound” was released in June 2017 followed by an ongoing project “The Digital Mixtape” in 2018.
